There was a Veteran’s Day assembly to honor all the Veterans and the Veterans who knew the student body. The select choir sang The Star-Spangled Banner, the 8th-grade choir sang “Thank you, Veterans”, and there was a beautiful representation of the colors by Mr. Ramos and M.A.V.A. the Mexican American Veterans Association. The assembly was put on by Mrs. Resler, Mr. Mitchell, Mrs. Walters, and the student council. They also had breakfast for the veterans and their family. Student council president Chelsey Highly recited a poem passed down by Mr. Ramos that was given to him by one of his comrades who died in the Vietnam War. The assembly ended with all the student body walking out of the auditorium in total silence.
