Programs at the Moline Public Library

The Moline Public Library needs you to join the Teen Advisory Group! Make new friends, give advice about programs and materials for teens, and earn service credits. Meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 3:30 p.m. in the Platinum Room. No registration required.

Visit the Moline Public Library on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 2:30 to 4:00 in the second floor program room for Tween/Teen Gaming. Enjoy a variety of video games, board games, and computer games. Drop in anytime. No registration required.

The Moline Public Library will be hosting a series of interactive movie events for teens. Do crafts, trivia, and other activities while enjoying a movie. Programs will take place in the second floor program room and will begin at 5:30 p.m. on April 1, May 2, and May 30. See the library for a list of movies to be shown.

The Moline Public Library’s Tween STEAM Club is a chance for students in grades 4 through 8 to participate in variety of great programs. These programs are offered as part of the Project Next Generation grant. Programs were developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. Registration is required for all events.

Dissection—March 18 @ 6:00 p.m.

Edible Water Bottles—April 1 @ 6:00 p.m.

Cooking—April 18 @ 6:00 p.m.

Watershed Science—April 25 @ 6:00 p.m.

Niabi Zoo—May 6 and June 10 @ 6:00 p.m.

Calling all poets! You can submit one original poem of up to 30 lines for your chance to win a prize of up to $25. All poets and their families are invited to the Poetry Café on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Moline Public Library meeting rooms for a poetry reading and an awards ceremony. The Summer Reading Program at the Moline Public Library will start on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Keep track of how much you read throughout the summer to win prizes and get entered into drawings for even more prizes. We’ll kick things off with a pool party on June 2 at Riverside Pool.
