The 8 Black Team Visits Tipis

On Friday, September 28th, the 8 Black Team visited Illiniwek to view tipis and to learn more about Indian history. Students were able to participate in dances and drum circles. Mike Peterson, Illiniwek Superintendent, said, “We’re so fortunate to have folks like Rudy (the man who organized the event) and others that share our passion for bringing these types of learning opportunities to the community.” It was a cold and rainy day, but the tipis and stories kept the 8th graders entertained.
