For those of you who don’t know, Morning Coffee Club is a book club hosted by Mrs. Smice. You meet about once every month to get together, have some donuts and juice, and then have a group discussion over the book for that meeting. The first book we read this year was The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl by Stacy McAnulty. We are currently reading the book Refugee by Alan Gratz. The books normally fit most reading levels, so if reading isn’t your forte, you can still give it a try. The next meeting will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 7:00 a.m. in the Wilson cafeteria. Another great thing about Morning Coffee Club is that it’s completely free! You get a copy of the book we are reading, and you are allowed to keep it. We also have a drawing at each meeting to win another free book by the same author. I highly encourage you to join the club and participate in Morning Coffee Club. It is great to get your parents to read with you and join you for the discussion, but it is not required. I greatly encourage you to join, because it is such a great experience that you don’t want to miss out on.
