Cross Country

The cross country team is coached by Mr. Perkins. This season was a great season. This year the boys were able to bring home 4 trophies (three 1st places and one 2nd place). The girls were only able to bring one trophy home (2nd place at the 2018 Heartland Conference CC). After a 12 year streak, the boys finally won Conference. The girls sadly got runner-up to Geneseo. At the sectional meet in Sterling, Illinois on October 6th the boy's team came in 4th place just missing the chance of taking the team to state, and our girls took 6th place. Two of Wilson’s students did qualify for state: Alan Nightingale who took 2nd overall in Sectionals and Eryn Robertson who took 8th overall. At the team's banquet on Monday, October 15th, Coach Perkins recognized his athletes. But a big surprise was brought in from his 8th-grade runners: a check worth $100 was donated for Gabe’s Gift.
