Wilson Middle School held an assembly to bring awareness to suicide. The speaker was a boy named Foster’s dad, and it was very sad. To begin, the Wilson Choir sang a song from Dear Evan Hansen the broadway show. Foster’s dad explained that his son was very popular and everyone liked him, but things kept piling up and it became too much for him. Foster ended up taking his own life. Foster’s dad explained that everyone matters in the world and to get help if you need it. Getting help isn’t a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. At the end of the assembly, everyone got a bracelet that says “Foster’s Voice Suicide Awareness.”
