IMEA Auditions

The IMEA Festival is a concert held at Augustana. Only certain students are selected to be part of the concert. Each of them choose to work hard to learn and perform new music at an audition at Geneseo Middle School. There are many other kids there from other schools and cities. Students audition for band, jazz band, orchestra, and choir. At the audition, each student is given a time and room number to go to for their audition. When it’s their turn they step into the room and the judge will ask them to perform their music. Sometimes the judge will ask them only to perform a certain part of the song. After they’ve auditioned students wait until the Monday after to hear if they got in or not. If they get in, they are given new music to practice and attend rehearsals at Augustana with the rest of the students in it. They all work hard to learn and do their best at the festival. You can see them perform at the IMEA Jazz Festival on November 4th or at the IMEA Festival on November 11th at Augustana.
