The sixth graders at Wilson Middle School have their own Chromebooks to take home and to class. I interviewed a mixture of people to see how the 1:1 instruction is going.
Mrs. Welvaert said, "I really like being 1:1 with Chromebooks in the classroom. It's great to have Chromebooks on a daily basis because it adds to student engagement, allows for more creativity, and different learning experiences. It's also great to have the Chromebooks when we want them instead of having to sign up to use them and time our lessons around when they are available."
My brother Will said, "I like it because they make it easier to do homework. Instead of writing out something on paper, we are able to type it. Sometimes students do things they are not allowed to do and lose their Chromebook privileges.
I like the Chromebooks because they allow you to do a lot more things than we used to be able to do. We used to have to write everything down, but now we can look at a book and then type the answer. It is really handy to use and when you get free time, you can do something fun on the Chromebook.
