Jonas, a young boy of 12, lives in a perfect world. Until he’s assigned his job. It is a job that someone rarely gets. He has very few instructions compared to other people and is confused. But when he starts his training, everything is clear, and he starts to realize the flaws of his society.

I chose to tell you about this book because it is one of the best books I have ever read, and it is very popular. (However, I did not go into depth about it so I didn’t spoil anything.) You may have heard of it before, but if you haven’t read it, you need to. It is a very deep book and discusses some dark topics, so if you are into dystopian books, this is a book for you. One of the best, yet most frustrating things about it, is it makes you think. It is one of the most meaningful books I’ve ever read, and I hope you enjoy it. It is a quartet, so be ready to read all of the books!

”...The Giver, a powerful and provocative novel, is sure to keep older children reading and thinking!” - Karen Ray of the new york times. Oct. 26, 1993
