Letter from your Paw Print Editor-in-Cheif
Dear Wilson wildcats,
The school year sure went by fast, hasn’t it? In my time here at Wilson I have learned new skills, tried new things, and met some amazing people. Not that I’m dreading High School or anything, it's just going to be hard to leave this place where I have so many memories. I’ll miss the things I learned from my teachers and how great they were. I’ll miss the routine my friends and I have fallen into over the course of 3 years. I’ll miss all the clubs I’ve been a part of. Wilson has given me a sense of purpose that I didn’t feel at my elementary school. I’ve become more confident and have been more willing to take risks. Middle school even got me to enjoy PE class just a bit more! I hope you’ve accomplished just as much this year. Leading up to this point in my life I’ve grown so much. You may feel awkward now and that’s okay. That feeling tends to become less and less of a given reaction as years go on. I have the hunch that those who read this may not care, which is fine. But take my advice: Keep working towards your dreams. It’s basic advice, but it is so true! When I was a little kid I never knew that I would accomplish so much now. Don’t let others discourage you from doing what you want to do with your life. Life goes so quickly and one shouldn’t live it with regret. Want to try out for a solo in choir? Do it. Want to tryout for football? Do it. Follow your passions. Whether you are musical, artsy, athletic, a mix, or something else entirely, you have the potential to do something amazing. Seriously, whatever is stopping you isn’t worth listening to. I can’t physically make you do anything. I can just hope you try. If it seems too hard, start small. One small step makes all the difference.
So as you keep going on your journey through Wilson and beyond, remember to cherish it and go for all of your dreams. Your dreams are special. You are special. You have the power to change the world.
I hope you all have an amazing summer full of fun and excitement. Maybe in a couple years I’ll see some of you 6th and 7th graders in the halls of Moline High School!
